Following a worldwide manhunt that centred in Thailand, Christopher Paul NEIL was arrested by the Royal Thai Police in a northeast province of Thailand today, Friday, 19 October.

'Let all international criminals and fugitives be put on notice that INTERPOL, its police partners in 186 member countries, the public and the Internet present new and powerful possibilites for hunting them down wherever they might try to hide,' said INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble.

The arrest comes one day after Thai authorities issued an arrest warrant for the 32-year-old Canadian and INTERPOL issued its international wanted persons notice, a Red Notice.

NEIL is now being transported to Royal Thai Police headquarters in Bangkok.

NEIL was apprehended just 10 days after INTERPOL launched its public appeal to identify an unknown man photographed sexually abusing young Southeast Asian boys in images which had been posted to the Internet.

Within days NEIL’s name, nationality, age, passport number, current and previous places of work were known to INTERPOL and provided to all of its 186 member countries.

INTERPOL will issue further updates later today.
